Come Watch a Movie With Us!

We promise to keep you safe in THE FOG

The scream queen in her element: Jamie Lee Curtis in THE FOG.

Friends! I’m so excited to share this news that I couldn’t wait until Saturday. Alonso and I are hosting a screening of John Carpenter’s 1980 horror classic “The Fog” at The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana. Mark your calendar for Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2pm Pacific time. Then stick around afterward and watch us record a discussion of the film for our podcast. If you’re anywhere in the Southern California area, we’d love to see you and say hello in person. Tickets are available here.

Love this old-school horror poster.

Carpenter’s “The Fog” is rich in atmosphere and features an incredible cast, including Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Lee Curtis AND Janet Leigh, Hal Holbrook and John Houseman. Besides directing, Carpenter co-wrote the script and, of course, composed the score. This is exactly the kind of thing we love to do with our Was It Great or Were You 8? series at our Breakfast All Day YouTube channel. It’s always enlightening to look back at the movies from our youth to see how they hold up today. This should be an especially fun one, since we’ll be watching a 4K restoration of the film.

You’ll definitely be hearing more about this from me in the weeks to come. Any questions you have, I’d be happy to answer. And I’ll see you again for my regular newsletter edition this Saturday. Have a great week!
